Foundational Skills 101
Hi! Welcome to this inservice offered for 2 hours of credit via MLP for the Howard-Suamico School District. This course is designed to help you gain a basic understanding of the Common Core State Standards- Foundational Skills and apply them to your own teaching.
1. If you want credit for this coursework, be sure to register in MLP first.
2. Use the dropdown menu or click to view "Overview Sliderocket Presentation".
3. Use the dropdown menu or click to review your personal grade level skills, via "CCSS by Grade Level".
Choose your specific grade level to truly understand what skills are appropriate, however, keep in mind you only teach what students need. Also view, the grade levels below or above to gain a better understanding of what skills are needed to support struggling readers or gifted students, based on your individual students' needs.
4. Use the dropdown menu or click to view some practical strategies for working with students via "Menu of Intervention Strategies". Choose one strategy appropriate for your students' needs to learn and review on the wiki.
5. Go to the Wiki tab on the menu-bar to fill in the review form for your chosen strategy. You will also need to comment on one other strategy review.
6. Optional: Visit the various websites (symbaloo mix) and other links provided on this site.
